BCG offers Free Webinar on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, 8 pm EST

See the Genealogical Proof Standard applied to research on both sides of the Atlantic to prove the identity of an immigrant not found where she is supposed to be and whose name is anything but certain.

The Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) in conjunction with Legacy Family Tree will present “Elusive Immigrant: The Search for Dora Lühr” by Warren Bittner, CG®, live and free to the public, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, July 21, 2020. In order to accommodate those who might have schedule conflicts, the webinar may be accessed at no charge for one week after the broadcast on our partner website Legacy Family Tree Webinars (https://familytreewebinars.com/).

Warren Bittner, CG®, a well-known genealogical researcher and lecturer, works as a genealogist for AncestryProGenealogists. He has lectured widely at conferences and workshops around the country on genealogy methods and German research topics. He coordinated German research tracks at the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR), the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP), and the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG). Next June, he is coordinating a GRIP course, “Foundations of German Research.” He is a former trustee for the Board for Certification of Genealogists and a former German Collection Manager at the Family History Library.

“The Board for Certification of Genealogists offers monthly webinars on an array of subjects in support of its mission to promote standards and ethics among all who practice genealogy, not just those who are seeking certification,” said President LaBrenda Garrett-Nelson, JD, LLM, CG®, CGL℠. “These webinars provide an opportunity for certified associates to participate in advancing the Board’s goals by presenting quality educational experiences to the entire genealogical community.”
