At a special meeting of the Board of Trustees held on 8 February 2024, Jari Christopher Honora, CG®, was elected to fill a vacant trustee position for the Board for Certification of Genealogists. Jari received his Certified Genealogist® credential in 2022, and is employed as a family historian with The Historic New Orleans Collection. He received his B.A. in History from the Tulane University of Louisiana, where he was a recipient of the Purvis E. Boyette Memorial Prize for Writing from Tulane.
The trustee position became vacant upon the resignation of Rebecca Hockaday, CG®, who has served as a trustee since October 2022.
The Board expresses gratitude to Rebecca Hockaday for the service to BCG and welcomes Jari Christopher Honora as trustee to serve Rebecca’s remaining term through October 2025.
