The search for the deceased husband of Elizabeth Larzalere, enumerated in 1820 with four young children, leads to unexpected results and to new questions. This case study demonstrates how challenging valid assumptions and unsound assumptions reveals previously undiscovered evidence and upends faulty conclusions.

The webinar by Jeanne Larzalere Bloom, CG®, presented by the Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) in conjunction with Legacy Family Tree Webinars, uses a case study to remind us to question our assumptions. Failure to search for evidence to support our assumptions and to critically test evidence can lead to inaccurate conclusions.

The live webinar, free to the public, will be presented on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at 8 p.m. Eastern time. To accommodate those who might have schedule conflicts, the webinar can be accessed at no charge for a week after the broadcast.
