BCG’s next free monthly webinar, in conjunction with Legacy Family Tree Webinars, is

 “Mastering Data Collection”

by Jill Morelli, CG®, CGL®

Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 8:00 p.m. (EDT)

As genealogists, a foundation of our work lies in the careful collection and accurate interpretation of data. Ensuring that we follow best practices not only enhances the quality of our research, but also upholds the ethical standards of our field. This presentation will take a deeper look into the essential aspects of data collection as outlined in Genealogy Standards, providing you with tools and techniques to manage and interpret genealogical data effectively and assure confidence in your response to tough genealogical problems.

Morelli Jill ImageJill Morelli, CG®, CGL®, is a writer, lecturer and educator. She has written articles for National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Swedish American Genealogist, and many others. She self-publishes regularly and is working on her third book—a compilation of all the articles she has written about her mother's family. Jill is the founder of the Certification Discussion Group, an online series discussing certification through the Board for Certification of Genealogists. Jill is a past president of the Seattle Genealogical Society, program chair of the Puget Sound-Association of Professional Genealogists and a member of many local and national genealogical societies.
