dfh Research Services
dfh Research Services specializes in genealogical research to establish relationships, identify unknown individuals and break through brick walls. We help DNA test takers identify unknown parents or other ancestors. We also help applicants for certificates of Canadian citizenship find and request the documents they need from the original authorities (e.g., vital statistics agencies or government archives). Our team includes a birth record specialist in Toronto, Ontario.
Mike Sainsbury, MA, MLIS, CG®, partner and principal researcher, received his Certified Genealogist® credential from the Board for Certification of Genealogists® in 2024. He worked as a public and academic librarian for 20 years before co-founding dfh Research Services. His company specializes in genetic genealogy and Canadian citizenship cases where no official birth record exists for a Canadian-born ancestor. He has solved or significantly narrowed the pool of candidates in dozens of DNA cases involving adoption, undocumented parents and grandparents and unknown individuals in Canada, the United States and Great Britain.
Certified Genealogist and CG are registered trademarks and the designations CGL, and Certified Genealogical Lecturer are service marks of the Board for Certification of Genealogists®, used under license by Board certificants who meet competency standards.
Note: Contact information for emeritus and retired associates is provided as a courtesy; these individuals have retired from research for clients. For currently-active associates, the Certification Date is that of initial certification; associates are retested every five years. Because all research credentials were consolidated to reflect the CG credential in 2005, any prior certification categories are also noted.
