If you doubt that you will be ready to apply for certification in the foreseeable future, but would like detailed information about the standards and requirements, BCG recommends that you purchase

The BCG Application Guide, which details submission requirements for each certification category;
The BCG Genealogical Standards Manual, which delineates the standards that the judges will use to evaluate your application.

You may also find a subscription to OnBoard, BCG's educational newsletter to be helpful. Most issues contain application tips or information about the standards your application should meet.
